Trauma Experts
Specialist support for organisations and practitioners working with trauma-affected individuals and communities in Aotearoa New Zealand
Trauma-Informed Practice
Gabby O’Reilly is a Registered Social Worker with over 15 years of experience in the New Zealand social services sector, including specialist work in care and protection and child interviewing. She brings this depth of experience to support organisations and practitioners working with people who have experienced trauma.
Trauma-informed practice isn’t just a framework — it’s a way of working that recognises the pervasive impact of trauma and integrates that understanding into every interaction, policy, and process. O’Reilly Consulting can help your organisation develop this capability.
What We Offer
Trauma-Informed Organisational Consultation
We work with social services organisations, NGOs, and public sector teams to embed trauma-informed principles across their practice — from frontline work through to leadership and governance.
Professional Supervision
Confidential, regular supervision for social workers, counsellors, and allied health professionals working in trauma-adjacent roles. Supervision provides a protected space to reflect on practice, manage vicarious trauma, and maintain ethical, effective work.
Available in person in the Bay of Plenty region, or nationally via Zoom.
Staff Wellbeing and Vicarious Trauma Support
Teams working with trauma carry a significant load. We help organisations put in place the structures, supervision frameworks, and cultural practices that protect staff wellbeing and reduce burnout.
Specialist Child Interviewing Expertise
With formal training as a Specialist Child Interviewer, Gabby brings expertise in safe, evidence-based approaches to working with children who have experienced abuse or trauma.
Practice Framework Development
We assist organisations to develop or review practice frameworks, policy, and supervision structures that reflect current research and uphold ethical standards.
